Humans are animals.
Hello your point is now moot
Now to add more meat to this post, the way you make it sound, boogieknight, is that humans are the herald of the preservers of the world, which is just plain wrong, because humans are the cause of major scientific phenomena which needs to be stopped. Even though the very humans you say which are causing this problem are at least acknowledging this situation and doing something about it (ozone depletion, global warming, etc.), that does not change the fact that humans are also pretty inconsiderate in nature. War? What the hell, that's tame stuff!
Degrading humans? It sounds like they deserve it, after all they've done. Look at WW1 and WW2. They were so devastating, it demonstrated just how destructive and how short-fused humans are, it was so terrible, the Cold War was called the Cold War because the two opposing forces, the US and the USSR, acted coldly to one another by use of psychology rather than flat-out military conflict. Now, what does this have to do with zoos? Very simple.
While animals are probably better off in the wild, the humans' nature of believing in gaining profit for themselves, their greed, has led them to pouch and hunt down these animals for their own gain. Zoos and sanctuaries may be rather restricting for these animals, but setting them free isn't the best solution. For now, these animals should be cared for in zoos, at least, until the poaching and animal endangerment problem has been quelled to some extent.

While it is true that the flesh of humans are of world, the spirit of humans are from Pleroma. The fact that we partake in violence is only a sign of ignorance and the corrupting, maddening nature of this existence.
If we are greedy, it is because we are taught that this world is the totality of existence. If we are just clever animals, why not get what you can? I am a little cuious how you define greed.
Nature is not the nurturing mother we are told she is, she is a cruel and wicked tool of oppression. Any advantage we can get over nature should be used with discretion.

Nature is not the nurturing mother we are told she is, she is a cruel and wicked tool of oppression. Any advantage we can get over nature should be used with discretion. Being clever is making do or doing better with what you already have, or with using less. Being greedy is trying to use what you have to gain more, even if it means destroying what you already have in the first place. How does being taught the world is a whole the precedent for becoming greedy? Do you even know what words you are using, or are you just trying to sound flowery? The sign of ignorance, corruption and degradation has already been evident since time immemorial, it has already manifested. So there's no point in saying that. Violence has existed a long time ago, whether you believe it or not. Nature can be giving, but destroying. Don't be so one-sided as to say she is cruel and oppressive by only looking at the disasters that she has caused. What of the people who worship Mother Nature as thanks for using her fruit, the Indian Americans? You aren't making much sense to me at all.

I'm not being flowery, because humans are lied that this material realm is all, there are no meaningful repurcussions for one's conduct.
Violence always being a part of this flawed existence is my point, human beings participate, but we are not the cause.
Some of the most toxic substances on Earth are found in nature, it also unleashes earthquakes, tsunamis, draughts, floods, volcanic gases. If the Native Americans want to worship the spirits of their dinner, fine with me, but it's still idolotry. In the words of Valentinus:
I think you are confused because you are unfamiliar with Gnosticism. It's a very different view of the world, and it tends to make people of many kinds of creeds unconfortable.

I'm kind of wondering about that myself. From what I'm gathering so far, it's the belief that it has something to do with this supposed God worshipping its creators, while the humans worship the the God who is worshipping them?

Yeah because we all know humans are divine spirits trapped in the material plane ~_~ I'm only unfamiliar with Gnosticism because I believe it's a bunch of bull. I respect that you're able to at least use your belief to propose some interesting points, but this is just going too far. So what if some of the most dangerous things come from Nature? Medicinal herbs and plants have also been yielded from Nature, as well as some beautiful things like the animals that we are arguing about right now. Do note that dualism (a rather big tenet of this Gnosticism you claim I am unfamiliar with) IS evident in this, in one physical manifestation there are two distinctly contradicting traits, the good and the bad. By the way, I have no specific faith nor do I believe in any sort of cultish creed or any of the sort.
