I was doing a little image hunting when I learned about efforts to make a movie based on the Clock Tower franchise. From what I can tell, they are basing the plot on the one released by Capcom (#3 here). I'll admit that the third one seems to be the more "cinematic" of the lot, it's the least original of the bunch. However, it does seem that Scissorman will make an appearance. How that will fit into the plot I'm not sure. The First Fear or the sequel (which was the first to come to the States), would make more horrific films. Then again, there's the "protected classes" in Hollywood movies, those who in general are certain to survive: kids, dogs, etc. In The First Fear, Scissorman was hunting down young girls for sport in the Barrows Mansion like the minotaur. That's way too un-PC for Hollywood. Ghosthead/Struggle Within may or may not be good movie material, but they could at least import the two protagonists into the movie. A young, insecure girl and her masculine, deranged alter ego would make at least an interesting supporting character. The girl sees a relative's decapitated head and freaks, Bates (the male alter ego) sees said head and wants to quote Hamlet (if he knew Hamlet that is ). Do any of you guys know anything about the movie?

If I recall correctly, it's suppossed to come out either in late 08 or early 09, but I've heard almost nothing outside a few online sources.
One last thing, I wish that they borrowed more from the first couple games. Norway may not be Bond-movie exotic, but it's not a conventional setting and I think with an intimate knowledge of the area it could be used effectively like Hitchcock used San Fransisco in Vertigo.
