The scene fades in with the sounds of movement. Clashing metal, tourtured screams, the sounds of blood dripping and fires burning, and most terrifying of all was the shrill, high-pitch shriek of...a microphone? The sounds of static are replaced by silence, and silence replaced by a light, yet uplifting jingle along with the sound of a clock ticking. A lone white, stuffed rabbit sits alone with a nameplate in front of him that reads "Usagi". In a large empty spot next to him is a nameplate that reads "Pleinair". A large screen is behind the desk he sits at, and the rabbit seems to be finishing up some desktop organization. He quickly looks at the camera and speaks in a deep and charismatic voice that betrays his size and appearance.
"Iiiiiiit's 6'o clock, and time for the neeeews! I'm your host, Usagi, and we are broadcasting to all Netherworlds in Gigavision(TM)! We'd like to remind our viewers that today's broadcast is brought to you by EZ-Slice execution products! Keeping heads rolling since 855 AD!" Usagi said with an overexaggerated amount of excitement.
"And now, for today's top story!" he quickly interjected.
On cue, the screen in the behind Usagi transforms into a scene of various demons in poses that seem to exaggerate something that seems to be stupidity, all of them seem to be counting with their fingers. The camera quickly changes so that only an enlarged version of the picture on the screen is visible.
"In the Netherworld of Random Games and Polls within the Chit-Chat universe, demons, angels, and even Overlords are hard at work counting to the number 1,000! Although their progress embarrasses even the most thick-skulled of Baciels, they press on, uncaring of what the general opinion thinks of them. Currently they are up to the number one hundred and seventy-two. If you would like to support them in their journey to numerical enlightenment, you can find them in Gate #CNT1000. It is rumoured that once they reach 1,000, they plan to go to 10,000! You have to admire their spirit, folks! ...But that's about it." Usagi remarked, making it painfully obvious that he thought they were a group of idiots.
After his sarcastic remark, the camera zoomed out to include Usagi once more, and the picture upon the screen changing quickly afterwards. The picture shows a book with eyes and a mouth, with Alex, Pram, Asagi, Seedle and his vassal Blooma, and Lenny all surrounding it, with Alex looking quite angry, Pram looking amused, Asagi looking very unamused, Seedle looking devious, and Lenny looking worried.
"It seems that the aptly named "Badass Freaking Overlord" Zetta, has been trapped into a book! It seems Pram the Oracle has erm...written inside of him, in hopes of helping him regain his body! Whether or not this will work, or reverse and blow up in all of their faces, making their failure painfully obvious, is not yet known." Usagi said, adding a bit of a suspenseful flair to the the last statement.
The screen quickly shifted to show a dark figure with crimson eyes, looming over what looks to be a planet.
"And speaking of Badass Overlords, resident and Moderator of the Disgaea Reminisce Netherworld, BadassOverlord, has now officially changed his name to "Mr. Sinister". When asked why he changed his name, he first attempted to run away, but came back and immediatly answered 'I think it suits me more, plus that's how I'd like some of my characters to be...that and I always liked the name, just sounds good, I suppose. And I knew it would get me all of the ladies!'" Usagi's imitation of other people's voices was as awkward as usual when imitating the voice of Mr. Sinister.
"I would also like to note that our news broadcast is in no way responsible for the alteration of any quotes said or shown upon the show." Usagi quickly added in a serious tone.
The scene upon the screen shifted to a pile of dead Warslugs on one half, and on the other side, it showed a mothman with black wings, a strange green body, and a scar over one of its eyes, an especially nasty looking gunner, and a threatening ninja carrying a well-dressed young lady. In the background of that particular scene, one can see a black cloud mixed with red dust, within the cloud are pictures of a man with red hair, several gunners, a well-dressed blue frog, and a prinny, all with X's for eyes.
"And as always since the Veldime rush, the netherworld of Veldime is exploding with activity! Recent beast master interviews show that there is a stunning decline in the Veldime Warslug population. Monster Activists are flooding the scene, but no one really seems to care but them... In more interesting news, it also seems that the rumoured daughter of legendary God of All Overlords, has been "rescued" from her "captors". It seems that barely anyone in Veldime even knew that Overlord Zenon had a daughter, let alone that she had been kidnapped in the first place. And the rightly named God of All Overlords, Zenon, will no doubt be pleased with the return of his daughter, and will likely make sure her kidnappers all suffer painful and horrible deaths. Then again, he probably has enough trouble with all of the new attention Veldime is getting, as new Overlords and demons from around the universe are up to the challenge of claiming his title!" Usagi said, clearly trying to keep the viewer's attention glued to the screen with his dynamic tone changes.
The screen changed one last time, showing Prince Laharal on one side, and Baal's face on another side, both locked in a death glare with each other, both of their eyes burned crimson, and sparks of dark electricity clashed between them.
"And for our final topic for this news segment, tensions rise between Prince Laharal and the Great Overlord Baal! During one of the Prince's routine naps, the Great Overlord Baal commenced an attack on the Prince's castle! Baal has an old grudge to settle with the Prince's father, and he has decided that killing the Prince would fulfill that revenge nicely! Does the Prince has what it takes to hold off the Great Overlord Baal? Or will Baal finally have his vengence? Even Vyers, also known as "The Dark Adonis" and "Midboss" might be taking his share of the action! We will follow this story as we find more developments!" Usagi somehow remaining completely still as his voice rised to a very exciting and powerful level.
The screen suddenly switches again, to show a black-cloaked figure with exaggerated blush marks where his face would be, and the angel Flonne sweatdropping with a bit of a fearful look on her face.
"And on the next show, we will delve deeper into the rumour of Flonne's new stalker! Is it true love, or is he just another creepy phantom? Find out on the next edition of the SatelliTV news broadcast! Stay tuned for next week's broadcast!"
And with that, the screen fades to static.
