For people visiting the Netherworld for the first time, telling the day apart of the night could be difficult. During both times, the sky was a perpetual pitch black with only a few differences. Day was a solid black, where no stars shone through the darkness. Night was pitch black too, but through the darkness you could see trembling stars far away, and a faint blue tint through them. Night brought along a feeling of calmness too. During day, most of the Netherworld inhabitants worked their hardest, doing what they did best. During night, most of them found relief, comfort, and rest. It wasn’t something you could see, but feel. There was a general feeling of contentment, even among the most badass demons.
However, the most notorious difference between these two times was two bodies. Day was followed by a sun of yellow and red lights, Night danced with a moon. And if you were really lucky, you could see the moon dressed in a different light. Kae still remembered the first time she had seen it. Full in its shape, Blue in its color, so much like her eyes now. Back then, her sapphire eyes had looked at the moon filled of innocence, curiosity, and even some love; she didn’t know why something as simple as looking at the moon could cause her to go into a relaxed state of sort, But then again maybe it wasn’t the moon at all. A gentle sigh soon broke Kaes silent as she took in a deep breath of the cold night air her chest lightly heaving up and down as she did so, Currently the young Demoness was sitting on one of the many large stone window ledges that were spread out amount the castle her small legs being folded upwards till they met her chin allowing her to rest her head on them while she admired the moons elegant charm.
It’s so beautiful out tonight, Would almost be a perfect night if I wasn’t locked here in this prison of a castle under that Grinch Laharl.”
A small sweet smile formed on her face as she shook her head back and fourth her long strands of black hair idly falling forward in front of her face, Reaching her left hand upwards she gently pushed them aside and let out yet anther small sigh of annoyance. It was slowly getting closer to the holiday seasons and Christmas was all but here, Yet by living in the Overlords castle one would think it was closer to Halloween then Christmas. This was all but normal for most demons but Kae wasn’t your normal demoness she still remembered how the humans on earth celebrated the holiday of Christmas, Showing love and happiness along with gifts of affection to those they cared about.
“I guess I cant blame the prince for not caring for Christmas.. It is a holiday after all that celebrates peace and happiness among everyone, Not to mention shows respect to the heavens.”
She couldn’t help but to let out a small giggle of amusement as the image of Laharl dressed in a Santa Clause suit passed by her mind, Rolling her eyes she knew that would never happen but it was still funny non the less. Tilting her head to the side Kae took a moment to look down at herself, At the moment she was wearing a rather simple attire that consisted of a charcoal colored black tank top and matching pair of black leather shorts, Printed across both pieces of clothing were small blue bats that seemed to add a touch of design to her clothes and set her aside from the usual ragged ripped clothes of most of the Vassals she came across in the castle.
“Maybe I can bring Christmas to the castle… I don’t see why I cant, What Laharl doesn’t know wont hurt him after all.”
She giggled softly in amusement as she jumped to her feet and took a moment to gently brush off the collection of dust that began to form on her skirt, Rolling her eyes in a rather care free manner it was coming to her attention before she did anything to the castle she needed to change herself to fit in more with the holiday theme that would soon be covering the castles walls. Allowing a coy little smirk to form on her face she dashed down one of the many corridors in the castle making a right she stopped in front of a rather large wooden door, Inside was none other then her own room so the girl wasted little time as she reached for the doors handle and pushed it open, Walking inside she closed the door behind herself and walked over towards her closet.
“This will probably be the first and best Christmas this castle ever gets.”
Tilting her head to the left side she opened up her closet and glanced inside, The small room was all but filled with different sets of clothes many of them being brightly colored and more fitting to that of an angel then a demon, Still smiling she reached for bright red dress that had small green Christmas trees printed across the bottom of it. Tossing it over towards her bed she nodded in approval before reaching for a santa clause hat that idly hanging from a hook on the left side of closet, Sliding it on over her head she softly snickered in joy and glanced back towards the mirror that was placed in the middle of the room.
“Now to change.”
Not wasting anytime at all the demoness was quick to change her attire her old black skirt and tank top soon being nothing more then a pile of clothes on the floor, In there place she wore the red dress from before the fabric seeming to stick to her body like a second skin, Taking a moment to admire herself she reached her right hand over towards a coat rack pulling off a snow white coat that had small Prinny prints printed all across the top of it. Sliding the coat on over her dress she turned her back on the coat rack and proceeded to make her way back out of the room and into the hallway.
“Time to get to work!”
She chimed out happily as she rushed off in search of the needed gear she knew she could attain to complete her task.
As a few hours went past The entire castle seemed to have transformed. Garlands decked every inch of banister and mantles, wreaths hung on every door and mistletoe above every doorway. Fires, most of them set slightly more decorously than the first, burned cheerfully, and Kae had found time to put cider on to heat. Cinnamon filled the rooms, mingling with pine and smoke, and Christmas lights gleamed against the darkening skies outside the windows. The Christmas trees themselves that Kae had managed to attain were cheerfully, wildly chaotic -- it was possible to identify the decorator by the choice of color and organization she used. Half of the throne rooms tree held what seemed to be a hundred red and gold bulbs and several pounds of tinsel all of shining brightly and filling the room with light.
“This is what im talking about, This should bring a little bit of joy to everyone in the castle!”
Standing in front of the large tree Kae admired her handy work with glee, She had single handily decorated the tree along with filling the castle full of anything that even seemed close to being connect to the Christmas spirit. Nodding her head in approval she lifted a small white coffee mug up to her lips and gentle sipped the sweet hot liquid of hot chocolate into her mouth, gulping the drink down she giggled happily and took a seat on the ground in front of the tree simply relaxing for a change.
“Now to see how the others react to all of this…”
