Just to show the contrast of this story, I made this next chapter This isn't meant to be a nightmarish realm of evil... though that was meant to be the first impression
This chapter jumps right from one extreme to the other. So here's the other side of this world...

Chapter II: Just For Fun
"Kid..." a voice echoed "Jeez, this one's stayed asleep for awhile... Usually up by now..."
A blur returned to my vision , but I couldn't make out more than the gigantic hole I had made in the ceiling. Miraculously, I was still alive.
Something moved over the hole "Hey! Get up ya' lazy brat!" I felt something hit me in the chest. I rolled over to cover it and everything quickly came into focus. The girl that I saw before I fell asleep stood above me.
"Eh?" she casually kneeled down towards me "I should try to throw rocks at comatose people more often..."
She was grinning widely, but seemed relaxed. Even without the situation I was in, it was a little creepy...
"Relax, I'm not gonna kill you." she sat down on the edge of the floor above me "Like that's possible anymore." she tossed a rock up and down lazily.
I tried to speak, but all that came out was a whimper. I was still weak and very much afraid of this girl.
"Huh, y'know, you humans are strange when it comes to fear." she let the rock land in her palm "Anything you don't find familiar spooks you. You can't just go along with change, figure it out as you go, do something different for the hell of it..." she pulled her hand back and tossed the piece of rubble down. It struck me in my stomach and I bent over in pain, moaning a weak "Ow!"
She smiled and I saw her tail moved around a few times "And you can't take much physically either. No natural protection, nothing. And yet..." she jumped down out of my sight. "You all have the ability... some kind of personal drive to adapt to what you have so much fear for."
She stood directly over me now, and I struggled for breath. "You're a wimpy little kid, aren't you?" she grabbed my hand and got me up to my feet with a single pull.
I hadn't noticed before then, but she was actually only about as tall as I was, maybe even a little shorter. But she stood there, holding me up in the air by my wrist.
That is when I became extremely aware of myself, particularly, the fact that I was no longer wearing any articles of clothing.
I stared at the girl, completely dumbfounded "Where..." I managed to mutter out. My sense to speak returned all at once and I yelled "Why am I naked?!" tearing my arm free of her grasp and falling back to the floor. I pushed myself back and tripped, falling into a deep hole and rolling to a stop at the bottom.
Out of breath, I stood up and tried to collect myself before she followed, but now I was trapped down there.
"What're you doing?" she looked over at me again "Do you have some kinda hobby with falling into stuff? Cause I took you out of that crater for a reason."
I looked at her and saw up through all the holes into the black sky. Was it still the same night?
"Where are my clothes?!" I repeated, trying to cover myself.
"Uhh, you fell through five floors of concrete. You pretty much crushed everything on you into that hole."
"You couldn't bring me something?!"
"I could've... I just thought this'd be funnier." she made that malicious grin again.
I realized then, that she wasn't scary at all. She was just deliberately trying to piss me off!
"Here, make yourself decent!" I saw a thick green sweater land at my feet. I was almost afraid to look up.
Her body under the shirt was covered in a thin layer of fur that did the job of a top by itself, even if her thin body was now entirely shown off.
"You... You... Uhh, okay!" I tried to say something, but I didn't dare to disobey this creature for long. Putting on the sweater, I found it to be long enough to fit over the majority of my body, the rest left over didn't matter except that I was still very cold.
"C-can you help me up?!" I yelled.
"Well I could!" She grinned.
"Oh c'mon!" I grabbed the wall of the crater and looked across the edges "I can't climb this!"
"Fine, fine." she backed away from the hole for a few minutes. A knoted rope soon fell in and struck me over the head before it landed. I tok the rope in hand and began to climb up.
I had never really been very athletically coordinated before, so I didn't take to climbing well. Struggling up the last few steps of the trial, I couldn't get around one immediate fact that I just had to ask.
I panted while stepping up next to the girl and said "Why... Why didn't you just fly down?" pointing to her wings.
She stared at me silently for a few seconds, then looked annoyed... and pushed me backwards into the crater.
