Name of Skill: The Regalia of Topagae
Although not a skill, my character Topagae draws most of his abilities from home made specialized equipment, which I feel I think warrants payment of hel, and I figured it would fit under "Original skill"
Topagae is a human, frail, no magical powers, no gifted supernatural talents, so, Topagae adapted the stance that, to survive he needed to be able to adapt. And with his array of magical and technological equipment Topagae has been able to thrive because when used in combination is seems that Topagae can adapt to an almost infinite range of scenarios.
Over the course of his career, blending magic with technology, Topagae has retrofitted a pair of goggles attached to a helmet, that grant him boons that would enable him to compete with the magic and supernatural powers of demons. Using various underworld connections, favors from the magically inclined, and his own spark of engineering genius, this magical item seems to do it all. It can be switched to see in every light spectrum, including those of magic. The power at which it can see these spectrums is almost unlimited. They can zoom, define, focus, sharpen, save images, video streams, audio streams, which of course can also be obtained by amplifying combination of any or all of those options. (Example, Topagae spies on a demon consorting with an information dealer and amplifies the sounds, then records it and sells it for cash.) The helmet also allows 360 degrees of vision with a mixture of magic, cameras, and neural uplinks, which of course took some getting used to, but is incredibly useful for an almost infinite number of reasons. Topagae does enjoy never getting snuck up on. Except by wizards since they seem to appear out of thin air…. Of course these uses are incredibly paramount in his line of working, scouting and reconnaissance and assessing threats of any kind.
Though the capabilities of the helmet truly shine in a stealthy line of work, the helmet provides a tremendous deal of help in battle. All the of the hundreds of combinations that Topagae can see in that a normal being cannot can find one hundred flaws in a “Perfect” technique, weapon, armor of an opponent. The helmet also serves to alert him of obvious dangers, as once again it allows him 360 degrees of vision. The helmet has a very basic AI interface that is powered by his own subconscious so Topagae can literally be asleep but be somewhat aware of his surroundings, as well as multitask incredibly well in the heat of battle, such as analyzing the sword of an opponent to see where he could sunder it best with a bullet while wildly dodging his blows. The helmet also serves to increase ones physical reflexes and gives the user almost full control of every part of their body. To make sense of this, consider your heartbeat, the helmet has a drop down menu of functions that can regulate it if Topagae needs to appear dead for ten minutes, or perhaps to release adrenaline to his legs for 10 seconds so he can avoid being skewered alive. This is another function that has an endless number of uses.
Finally, Topagae’s helmet works in conjunction with all his weapons and armor, which have sensors and nodes to aide his helmet in doing its job. Topagae’s armor does not provide as much protection as much as any other armor but it can blend into its background and dampen the sounds Topagae makes, and if he happens to regulate the temperature of the armor, he can be fairly invisible to the naked eye if he ever wants to. Not that this stops magical creatures from seeing his equipment shine like beacons. That annoys the hell out of him.
Topagae’s melee weapons are all of fine make, and can work in conjunction as tools with his helmet if he ever needs them, but it’s his guns that he takes almost all his pride in besides his helmet. With the use of magical storage the guns themselves store roughly 200 rounds each of nothing less then a dozen different types of magical bullets, all catered to the weakness of his enemies. Armor piercing, full metal jacket, holy bullets, unholy bullets, silver, gold, bronze, belladonna, the list is endless and Topagae heartily enjoys making new rounds to trounce his enemies.
Of course Topagae is constantly upgrading his equipment, and by far he ends up using abilities in combination to do things he never though even possible, so this is by no means a comprehensive list, merely examples of the capabilities.
$Priceless. Topagae never reveals anything about how he does what he does, except to close friends, and even then he keeps quiet about it. He is a self taught master craftsman and in truly heart felt gifts, he might bestow similar pieces of gear to those he deems worthy.
