www.variety.com/article/VR1117984853.html?categoryid=13&cs=1I've been a fan since the PS1 sequel, which was the first game to get ported to the States. I heard one rumor that the movie would be based chiefly on the one Capcom created, which I had mixed feelings about. The production values and some system improvements were nice, but the whole miko thing and such were a little offputting. However, this one will take elements from "The Struggle Within/Ghosthead" apparently. I've played that one to the very end, and while the f-ed up plot and clear Resident Evil knock off part of the story and gameplay was nauseating, I think there was a great deal of potential with the heroine and her sinister, male alter personality. I really wished that the plot of Struggle Within was more entwined with that of the earlier games, which would not have been that hard and it may have made some sense. On TCM, the hosts often comment about why Hollywood bothers remaking the greats rather than taking those that had potential but missed the mark. While the people involved may not be the talent we need to do that, I have a faint glimmer of hope.

well we all know that usually video game based movies are never good I mean really not that good at all and I don't know why hollywood still does it if they know it's giving out a very bad impression and fans of those games will lash out at them for doing that and as for this clock tower movie I don't know about that but I'll just wait for a trailer just for some first impressions cause I'm kinda picky with movies ever since that one film that was bad years ago.

True, I can count on one hand all the videogame movies that were okay, and the only really good one was the anime take on Street Fighter II. More importantly, to me it's a sign that Capcom wants to do more with the franchise. Even if the movie blows, we may see a new game or some other spinoff in the future.

Woah, Clock Tower...I remember the OLD one that had the Scissorman in it. Brr. Creepiness abound.
Even though this DOES seem like another Resident Evil-esqe movie, I'll probably give it a shot when it comes out.

I think the movie will go more along the lines of the new Friday the 13th or Texas Chainsaw Massacre, rather than Resident Evil. Either way, Scissorman can really breakout onto the mainstream with the proper vehicle. Also, a battle between the multiple personality girl and Scissorman would be the perfect grudge match.
