I was scouring through the archives, and I found a bunch of game based threads. So, I'm bringing some back. First up: What's your favorite tradional rp. Rules for Traditional RPG: Turn based combat Go about the world involving storyline, with single or multiple endings.
One of my personal favorites would always have to be the Original Final Fantasy. I just love the freedom to choose your own group, and I LOVE the Red Mages.

Phantasy Star IV holds a special place in my heart since it was the first traditional RPG I ever played. Does the game have to be a certain age, or one that just meets those criteria? Cause SMT: Nocturne would have to be it. Survive the Apocolypse and fight to recreate the world according to your vision... the whole thing just felt so biblical.

Lufia II is definitely my favorite with Final Fantasy Six as a close second. I also enjoyed Final Fantasy Legends 2 and 3 (actually both part of the Romancing SaGa series, ported to America under those names to boost sales). These were the games of my childhood~

I didn't play many of traditional rpg's because I was to young and didn't get into them till I was about 13 and even then I had a gamecube so I missed alot. I've always wanted to buy the old FF's but I havent gotten around to it. Skies of Arcadia was a fun game (though I was only 13ish at the time I played it) I like FFX also.

I wasn't an RPG person when I was younger. The only RPG's which became my favorite during my teen years was Final Fantasy X and Kingdom Hearts.

Chrono Trigger ftw! I grew up playing that game, and every few years I go back through it again, and it never gets old ^^ I've gotten nearly every ending, including the 'staff room' ending for killing Lavos with just Chrono after Marle gets sucked back in time at the beginning Sure when I was a little kid I couldn't figure out how to get past the millenium fair because I didn't like talking to the NPCs, but I was bad at all RPGs back then XD

I was a complete noob back then when I first beat Pokemon Yellow How many years was it..? I struggled so hard in the Pokemon League, coming in unprepared. It was embarrassing to note how much Full Restores I've used the first time I've faced the Elite Four. Serves me right for not training my Pokemon properly and getting excited to see what happens next.. XD;; Pi-ka-chu~
