Dear god, sins are annoying. I love the ability to throw stars but there's no way I have time to find all the materials for a new claw. I'm going back to a bandit. I'm also going to a different server.

Sins aren't easy, yeah. >.> I just go to the FM for new claws. That place is NO fun, but it's necessary if you don't want to be stuck with bottom of the barrel goods.

I actually bother to try and get the materials to make my Claws and upgrade them to the highest level I can -- first of all because it's good training getting the items required, and second of all there's no chance of me getting swindled out of my mind if all I'm doing is buying NPC-shop pots (granted, the costs may be a bit astronomical after a while, but luckily I've been able to live off pills and pots from quests, not all of them being ones I've done myself . . . ). Not only that, but it's just easier to me -- for some reason, I'm able to easily get the materials I need without a lot of searching.
I tend to avoid the claw upgrades that involve Gold, though, that stuff's too hard for me to find in the wild, and in FM I can't stand the prices for them . . .
If you're stuck about what to hunt, go to hidden-street.net to find out what drops which ores and materials that you need. Also make a note, while you're there, of which areas tend to have only the monster you're hunting, or that has multiple monsters that drop what you're looking for, or a large amount of the monster(s) that have what you're looking for.

Say, does anyone here buy Cash Shop items? If so, do you do so for outfits, for in-game perks, for pets, or what?
Also, if you do have outfits you've made, please share them so that others can try them out.
Here's one I used for Marrowchan for the longest time, but is now gone (as in it expired) if I remember my dates right:
Black Cat Ears + Gothic Dress + Black Cat Gloves + White Cat Boots
It all comes together for a very nice Gothic Nekomimi (to use a friend's term for it) look. Next Cash Card I get I'm buying it again, my current combination of Mercury items and a sleeping cap isn't really for me, even though my hair's no longer black in-game, or in its old style (which I might return it to the latter; Candy Heart might not work too well, due to the bright colouration . . . ).

Nah, I barely touch Cash Shop items. I only did it once for my Hunter's hair, and that was about it.

Okie-dokie, I'm on Broa now. FM's too frustrating to me. 200,000 for mokbi's and so on. Bullcrap. I'm gonna stick with bandit XD.

200,000 for mokbi's and so on That's actually not that bad if your character has a steady flow of income, which is actually made possible for those on Global with the aid of the relatively-new iTCG. All you have to do is buy any number of packs of the MapleStory iTCG at your local hobby store or Wal-Mart (note that lighter packs may give more code cards -- weigh them against one another, even if only with your hands), and proceed to input the codes on the code cards included (one or more in each pack guaranteed). Your reward for this first step is simple -- it's usually an ETC item used to get a manual from somebody or other in NLC (or in the case of White Versal Materia, it's used to get a Materia Orb from the Glimmer Man). You can also get Power Elixers, Gelt Chocolates, and other rewards (though they're a little rarer than the ETC items), but the ETC items are what you're after. Why? Because these ETC items tend to sell for a decent amount of money each, check on BasilMarket to see their average prices before you sell them on FM. With this in mind, go and sell them in the FM, either by going into the Free Market Entrance like most people or by buying a Hired Merchant from the Cash Shop and leaving it in an FM room with your ETC items. Eventually, you will work up enough money to easily buy not just Mokbis, but Kumbis as well! Actually, Kumbis are the highest level star I will ever recommend a Thief use, if only because the others only give a minimal additional boost and cost infinitely more -- Kumbis cost around 400,000 Mesos a pack in stores, while Steelies and Tobis tend to sell for millions of Mesos per pack even when buying from the Free Market Entrance (and note that stuff in stores costs/is sold for more than it would be sold for out in the Entrance) . . . and only give one or two more points extra which you can easily make up with a couple of 100% Scrolls for your Claw, which are easily bought from one of the NPCs (Barun and friends, namely) with the money you will end up making by doing this on a regular basis. This has been a money-making (and money- saving) tip from M. Burusu, thank you for reading it.
