Wandering is not an Attack! (Open)

[Faust]

Somewhere, around the Sea of Gehenna, a lone figure made his way along the countryside. Tao was hardly the most physically imposing demon, or the most dangerous looking, or even the most intelligent in appearance. His clothing and his serious, stoic demeanor seemed to be ripped from the pages from every description of a martial arts monk that ever existed. Still, something in his expression and self-carraige hinted at a demon who had every reason to be proud.

It may have had to do with the long object bound with cloth on his back. He constanly reached back to check on it, as though he were worried it might vanish from his back any minute, but inside he was chuckling. Being trusted with such a rare treasure was definitely something that would give most a swelled head. Not him, though. Sure, he had to engage in more than a little deceit for the honor, and sure, he was prepared to celebrate his good fortune the first tavern he managed to find, but that didn't make him any less humble, right? It was, after all, the demon way.

Whistling a drinking song as he went, Tao hopped up to a short ledge and continued walking. Yessir, life was going good for him...

[Darc]

Darc looked grimly around him. He had done it again. Several demons and humanoids alike were sprawled on the ground, some bleeding, others with broken bones. It had started when a man had reached for his sake, when in truth he was trying to pour it for him.

Darc on the other hand thought other wise and punched him. HARD. While the man went flying and collapsed unconscious on the floor, his friends got up from their respective seats and surrounded Darc.

Again, the demon did not want trouble but instead someone reached for his sake again and tried to pour his drink on his head. Instead, Darc had grabbed his arm and twisted it so hard that a crack sound echoed loudly even to the outside. The demon writhed around on the ground while others nervously backed up.

One of them, a young tough looking brute, had accidently bumped into a drunken man and angered him. The drunkard proceeded to punch the demon so hard that he flew forward and landed on Darc's table, spilling his sake.

The chaos that ensured will and possibly shall always be described as the devil's work himself. Darc had spent the remainder of his savings on the drink, and now seeing as he didn't even get to taste a drop, he went wild.

When his senses returned to normal, everyone had either been punched in the face, slashed in the chest, or ran away.

"Okay, better to leave the scene of the crime now."

Darc rushed out into the bright sunlight before running off in a random direction. He was so caught up in his escape that he failed to notice the monk that was walking leisurely towards him. The collision was next to impossible to miss, but luckily, the traveler, having seen him coming at break neck speed, managed to side step and trip him.

After a bout of tumbling, Darc shook his head before looking at the monk who tripped him.

"Hey, I know you were in a hurry to go somewhere or something but I just wanted to ask you something. You know where the nearest bar is?"

Images of people sprawled on their backs while groaning in pain flashed through Darc's head as the monk spoke.

"Uhh, yeah. I was...um...actually heading there! My thirst for some drinks got the better of me and made me rush off. Anyways, I know where it is, want to follow me?" Darc said as he tried to appear as calm as possible.

"Uh...sure, why not? May I know your name?"

"I am Darc Demios, and you are?"

"Tao the Wandering Monk, and don't you forget it!"

"Uh yeah sure, whatever let's get going."

[Faust]

((OOC: Just to get this out there... normally it's considered a bad idea to take control of another person's character like that. For all you know, I may have wanted to act differently. It's no big deal, but try and leave it open for my responses.))

"Hoo boy." Tao could hardly contain himself. "Next stop: oblivion. There's just something magical about getting blitzed, in'nit?" He took a deep breath through his nose, then looked with surprise at Darc. "Well, you'd know, wouldn't you? I can smell the sake from all the way over here. You been bar-crawling or something, you drunkard?"

He laughed, knowing nothing about the fight and too wrapped up in the thought of taverns to notice if his words were having an unexpected effect.

[Darc]

Oh crud, he's reading me like a book! Okay, better use the politician's golden rule, deny unless proven wrong.

"Uh, me drinking? Never! Your nose must be mistaking something else for sake cause you're so thirsty!"

Darc nervously twiddled his thumbs, blocking his face from the monk.

Off in the distance, people were already starting to yell for help to assist the fallen brawlers in the bar. Darc just quicken his pace, hoping that no one had a clear picture description of him.

"So, do you mind me asking what the special occasion is for your large need to drink?"

[Faust]

Among Tao's many talents, never did he list his ability to sniff out liars, and for good reason. He laughed, unassumingly. "Special occasion? Since when does a demon need an excuse to get drunk, eh? I'm just celebrating my good fortune. My promotion might have something to do with it, too, but why let reason spoil a good time? That's right. As of this moment, I'm not some acolyte monk hiding out somewhere in scenic 'The Mountains,' meditating and thinking real hard about nothing. No sir, this time's different. You see, I've been selected to go on a pilgrimage. Looking for scrolls, learning the secrets of life, all that romantic stuff you see in the movies." Of course, that wasn't the exact reason for his journey. Even someone as dense and lost in the thrill of freedom as Tao wasn't about to reveal the importance of the staff lashed across his back.

His pointed demon ears did a sort of animalistic twitch. "Eh, whassat? Sounds to me like the party's going on behind us. Just our luck to be walking in just the opposite direction as a big, bona-fide demon fracas."

[Darc]

The beads of sweat that had collected on Darc's face began to grow in numbers. Darc had forgotten that this was a DEMON monk. Not only was he possibly skilled in battle, he had to be one who had given up the teachings with superior hearing. Darc cursed his luck before looking behind him.

Right now, many people were dragging the hurt out into the open while healers tended to their wounds. The bartender was speaking to a Prinny wearing what looked like an improvised police suit. Darc nervously tugged at his collar before speaking.

"Well, guess it's our bad luck. We better get going before they call on us to go help."

[Faust]

"Ooh, good call." Tao said, the sounds coming clearer to his ears, giving him a clearer picture. "Sounds to me like we'd be lucky to catch leftovers from that mess." His disappointment didn't seem to last long, however, as he fell back into stride.

"Any idea what happened back there? Musta been one hell of a party. Someone went totally beastly, I figure. 'Course, not nearly as beastly as I can get. Still, I'd hate to have to go toe-to-toe with whatever did that."

[Darc]

"Eh, who knows? Probably another one of those crazy drunken brawl fights that happen at complete random. For now, I say we sneak off and head to the next one."

Thank the Overlord! Okay, if I can play it cool, maybe I can get some sake after all! And who knows, this monk might be looking for something to do afterwards, what's to say I can't join him?

Darc smiled a little before picking up his pace, making sure to match stride with the monk.

[Faust]

Tao burst into hearty laughter. "Right you are, friend. No sense going where the party's over. No sir, no glory in sticking a flag in a historic battleground. We go where there's danger, though if we do it right we should hardly register how much danger we're in." Another hearty laugh. "So tell me, friend, are we close to this bar? I tell you, I can still smell the sake from here."

[Darc]

Sniffing the air, Darc indeed did smell the familiar scent of sake. Grinning he hurried along before finding the bar, a huge bouncer blocking the entrance. The large demon humanoid stood guard to the entrance to a bar with the sake literally wafting out of the doorway. A line of demons waited to enter as brights lights and sounds of fun went on inside.

"Shall we wait in line like pansy demons or charge forth together and see if we can fight this bouncer?"
