Alexa's firm handshake squeezed his hand a little, but he grinned and bore it as he remained passive. Relieved that he was safe for now, Jack nodded as he explained, "I've lived here for a while so I know a few of the major paths around here. Sacrifice street is a little ways south of here, and if we take a right at Sphinx's that should put us on the path to the Overlord's Castle."
However, one fine point came up, "I'm a little confused, I thought Krichevskoy died a while back. Hey, prinny, what are you doing at the old castle?"

After listening intently to Jack's directions, Gin was pretty positive that they finally knew where they were going. Either that, or he had some bogus trap set up for them to take their stuff and the what-not. What? A demon's gotta be paranoid around here, man!
Then, Jack asked about King Krichevskoy. Well, yeah, that was the truth. Old kingy HAD been dead for a while, but wasen't it apparent that his son Laharl had taken over the netherworld as Overlord? It made no sence...how could they NOT know about Laharl? Gin scratched his head and mulled this over for a second. Maybe the netherworld was so big, that not everyone had caught wind yet. Oh well.
Gin looked up at the two of the humanoid demons with a confused look. "I'm still working there, d00d. Full-time employment under Krichevskoy's son, Laharl, d00d. After Krichevskoy died, there was a pretty bad uprising for the throne, d00d, but you probably know all about that. Laharl kicked some major ass, d00d, and became the next overlord, d00d. When we show up, I'll introduce you to him, d00d, but don't try taking over or anything for your own good, d00d. He's pretty damn powerful, d00d, and he's got a pretty short fuse, d00d."
There. That should clear up anything that was unclear about that.

"WAIT!!!! Laharl is Krichevskoy's son?!?!" Now Alexa knew why the name sounded familiar. Though Alexa had been young she did remembered her parents talking about how Laharl would grow up to be a horrible oppressor. She doubted he had changed but there was always some hope.
At least Krichevskoy was dead that was a plus for Alexa. Then a thought came to her mind, "What is Gin was sent here by Laharl to collect the taxes my parents owe his father?" This seemed outlandish though since Gin hadn't seemed to care about who she was.
"I guess I will have to meet this Laharl before I can pass any true judgment on him," Alexa concluded decisively.

Krichevskoy had a son, that wasn't news, but as best as Jack could recall the boy was rather lazy and adverse to real effort. That wasn't unique in the Netherworld, but conquest took a great deal of work. However, from the prinny's account the Overlord's son stepped up to the plate. Then again, it doesn't take that much fighting prowess to impress a prinny.
Alexa had a rather violent reaction to learning about Laharl's lineage, and seemed eager for a battle. If it turned out that she pummled Laharl, they could use what treasures he pillaged from other rivals to the throne. Overall, it would be quite a boon. Jack smiled, "Why are we hesitating? Let's go to the castle and find out what the new 'Overlord' is like."

Gin nodded at Jack, and turned to the land behind him. Perhaps Gin had been wrong about them. Normally, a demon would have turned bright-eyed and bushy tailed at the thought of a new overlord to try and overthrow. These two...eh, not so much except for Alexa, who seemed more scared than bloodthirsty.
"Well, d00ds...let's get the hell outta here, d00d!"
(From this post, we shall now post in the lantz's topic. I'll post first there, and you two can follow suit. =D Here we go!)

Gingerly, Viceviper pulled his head out of the warm underground, snarling as the clamor of the outside world barraged his hearing. "So much more snug and safe down beneath the earth. It's funny that most people only learn how great it is down there when they're too dead to enjoy it," he laughed to himself. Predictably, he found that the others had all left. "Not surprising, this place doesn't have a lot of charm above the surface," he grimaced, ignoring the girls running around in their cute swimsuits and summer dresses. "I'm sure there's somewhere much more worthwhile out there somewhere... It's time for me to set off on a journey away from home."
Having sufficiently motivated himself with his quiet pep-talk, Viceviper set off into the netherworld. "Hah, I think we all know the only real way to make allies and keep them is to pay them. I've just gotta go find some easy money, then I get pay whatever company I need, just like my father." He realized to his chagrin that he was growing lonelier and lonelier as he talked to himself. "A man can't live on his own greatness alone," he thought to himself, "no matter how great that man (or man-worm) is." He resolved himself to find this easy money as quickly as possible, and perhaps even to stop drooling so much and be a slightly more agreeable of an acquaintance.
That didn't stop him from producing a thick, rancid mucus trail of green slop as he trailed on to his next location, however.
