Fa was, for lack of a better word, pissed. The former human had wasted another few days of her life on a fruitless search. The overlord of the netherworld that she lived in, Prier, had sent Fa to search for a fallen overlord, Sai. Even though it took a matter of seconds to reach the designated area through the dimensional gateway, Fa had spent four days on standby looking for Sai. Then, out of the blue, Prier had called the former human back to the castle. The mission was a failure and although Fa knew it was all Prier's fault just like all of the other failed searches, Fa would ordinarily choose to keep that particular opinion away from the overlord.
There was an odd nervous energy in the castle as Fa walked toward the throne room. Many of Prier's female vassals were working faster than usual, as though afraid that the overlord was close to throwing another tantrum and displacing her aggression to everyone else as per usual. The former human felt many cold stares from the other vassals as she drew nearer to the throne room. She felt as though one of them almost grabbed her arm as she reached for the large iron knocker. Ignoring the odd feeling, Fa opened the door and walked into the throne room.

There was an increased clamor about in the throneroom, as the female vassals rushed this way and that, doing various chores.
But the throne was empty.
Fa felt another tug on her arm and someone clear her throat beside her. It was one of the succubi, and she looked just as anxious as the others.
"If you're looking for Prier-sama, she's not here. She went off to.. erm.. blow some steam."
At that, the vassals stopped to stare at the two women, giving them the most pathetic of looks before hurrying back to their work.

(Not sure if Generalsai will be around anymore, but.. .=o)
No sooner had Fa been shown to an empty throne room did the Overlord herself stomp over past her, and take a seat. A smirk played about her face: one quite triumphant indeed.
Her vassals eeped and went about their business.
"Ah! Fa! You're back. Good. Uhm. What the hell did I send you out for again?"
She nodded to the sea dragon who followed her into the throne room (should he have followed).
"Well, whatever. Give me news of whatever you did, first off."
"Uhm, your glorious majesty?" someone piped in.
"What?!" Prier's dark face startled her vassals as she turned in her throne to see an empusa holding the hand of a frightened little pig boy.
"We found this..."

Corsair carefully stepped into the throne room after Prier and stood doing not a whole lot while the overlord tended to whatever business she seemed to have abruptly left before the two of them met. The arrival of the frightened small pig-child piqued Corsair's interest - he remembered reading something about a once-wealthy family of pig-demons... nether nobles, as their more proper name is... and this child seemed to be a pig-demon but there wasn't any real hint as to how wealthy it was from the looks of it.
"... Maou, do you have pig-demons like that in your netherworld normally?"

Prier raised an eyebrow as she looked from Corsair to the little piglet. Her other raised when the boy shrunk back in fear.
"Naw. Not many men here to begin with, much less pigs."
She jumped from her throne and approached the boy, who shrunk back even further. This made her stop, and she turned back to Fa and Corsair.
"You two know anything about 'em?"

Corsair shrugged slightly. "Well... Members of that species tend to be members of the upper echelons of society in my home dimension, maou... Though generally they're much bigger, and, as such, that one is more than likely just a child. If you've the interest and will, you could quite possibly hold that piglet for a not insignificant ransom... Wealth, power or knowledge, perhaps."
Corsair fidgeted nervously for a moment and turned to the nearest empusa in the room, whispering "Excuse me, but do you have anything to smoke here...?"

Prier scowled and folded her arms, stared hard at the little child. The dragon had a point. Yet again, she had no real interest in power. Knowledge, on the other hand..
Yes, yes. Knowledge on Croix's whereabouts.
As the empusa handed Corsair a cigar - conveniently placed in her cleavage, no less - the Maou clapped Corsair on the back.
"Brilliant! I knew I didn't beat you senseless for a reason!" She turned to the woman holding the pigboy. "Keep him happy and well-fed n'.. whatever. And you," she added, crouching down to face the boy, "who is your rich ol' daddy?"
"Uhm.. uh... I..."

(Sorry I've been gone for so long. I switched internet services and it's taken a while to get everything back on track)
Fa listened quietly to what the others were saying, almost afraid to admit her own failure, even though it wasn't her fault. Fa knew that she had worked hard, staying on standby for days and waiting for further orders. Still, none of that mattered. When the demon-class human sensed that it was her turn to speak, she made began her report, not even bothering to make it look like anything near a success.
"Milady, if I may." Fa began, stepping forward. "Long story short, I didn't find anything. The area that I went to turned up dry. Sai knows that you're searching, I'm sure of it, and I doubt that he would stick around a netherworld whose overlord was looking for him." The next part was going to be very difficult for Fa. She knew that she would be in big trouble for saying what she was about to say. "I think that you were mistaken in keeping the scope of this search to your own netherworld. And I believe your choice for such a narrow search is what has kept me from finding Sai."
Right after finishing, Fa knew that were about a hundred better ways for her to word her accusation, but there was very little to be done about it now.

((No prob~ Welcome back ;D))
Prier's eye twitched. But it was only a twitch, nothing more. She gave the piglet a smile and turned back to Fa, her knuckles tightening.
"You know how to get to another Netherworld from here, then? I'm all ears." She glanced at Corsair, then back to her. "Where do you think Sai would go?"
She tried to focus her attention back to the matters at hand: pigs running around her Netherworld, another Overlord, a sea-dragon, this little servant of hers.... Grrr.

Fa was unsure of why she was feeling so brazen, but Prier's not-so-violent reaction left the martial artist feeling not confident, but angry. Why would Prier ask such an obvious question? Any moron would know that a netherworld is really no different from anywhere else. One netherworld is just a large distance from another. Travelling to one would require only the usual means for travelling long distances. Nonetheless, Fa tried her hardest to desguise her anger.
"There's a dimensional gatekeeper here, isn't there? The same one I used when I started this mission. We use it for moving to specific places all the time. Pass a bill with the dark assembly for going to a different netherworld and it should be simple." Fa felt herself bristle with rage when Prier looked away. Averting one's eyes from whom they are speaking to is rude for normal people. For a fighter, it's considered sin.
"Where do you think Sai would go?" the overlord asked. In Fa's eyes, the answer to the question was the least of Prier's worries. Looking away when asking a question is bad enough, but not listening to the answer is even worse. Fa lost control.
"If I knew where Sai might be I would've gone there to look for him a long time ago! You probably know better than I do. Don't delegate responsibility to someone who's options are more limited than yours!"
