He was snoring lightly, the red orbs that had come out of the eye holes of the mask having disappeared, and he seemed rather comfortable laying on his chest on the hard ground, obvious that he was telling the truth when he said he had not slept in a while.
“Never, why did you leave me? Never, please don’t go! Never!”
He spoke lightly in his sleep, his voice softer now, unlike his gruff voice he had been using while awake. It was now obvious that he was sleeping, but why he kept saying Never was unknown.
“Never…”

Jennifer's approaching the slumbering demon would only cause trouble, Kitty was sure of it. She scrambled in front of the human's way and mewed softly.
"Laharl... nya. See Laharl..."
Kitty glanced over Rakai. He wore a mask, which could mean anything. The demon could be secretive: one thing Kitty knew all too well about.
"Hurry... Laharl.."

Jennifer nodded her head to Kitty's warning, her eyes still lying on the slumbering demon, her fingers curling into her palms as she slinked around him softly; wondering what he was babbling about. She bent down and lifted Kitty into her arms as she came closer to the exit, stepping into the harsh sunlight.
"Wow, it's so bright.."
She raised a hand to shield her eyes from the sunlight, her feet moving slowly as she stepped into what seemed to be a desert, watching the outline of the castle coming into better view.
"I guess we should hurry.. We'll see him soon enough, Kitty."
She nodded her head in reassurance, her feet moving more quickly as shadows fell upon them as they neared the castle gates; Jennifer's eyes sweeping from side to side as she kept lookout for anything that may stop them from reaching their destination.

While Jennifer kept a close watch of the sides, Kitty had full view of the rear. No matter if the demon was truly exhausted ... his spotting them wouldn't be good.
For a brief moment, she wondered how Brue was doing on his end. That stupid knight wanna-be turn rogue was probably messing things up. No matter. If this idea didn't work, there were others in Katherine's head. After all, Frost's family still owed her a giant debt - and an Overlord would be much better than a simple Head maid.
She mewed some more, urging Jennifer to hurry on.

After his quick power nap, Rakai awoke, pushing himself up off the dirty ground, brushing the dirt and dust off him and then stretching and yawning loudly, though the only people that would have hear him were quite a ways away.
“I desperately have to find an at least four star spa some place in this Netherworld, because I am seriously hating this whole falling to the ground thing I have been doing.”
He shook his head which motioned him to see the ground, and see that there were footsteps there now, that weren’t there before. He followed them up to the castle and then turned around, seeing that they were heading away from it.
“Ah HA! There was someone working here, you won’t get away without giving me direction.”
He bent over and started walking while looking down, following the footsteps, though he was quite a few minutes behind them, almost over half an hour behind.

Jennifer stilled for a moment, sensing a presence and she turned on her heel; tilting her head to the side as she spotted a familiar figure. It was a prinny, he had seemed to notice them, but he didn't appear to be threatening in any way. He stood at a distance, watching them idly; hit beady eyes never moving from them as Jennifer shifted her weight.
"I wonder if he's scared..."
Jennifer mumbled her words as she continued to watch the creature curiously and she lifted a hand, waving it to the prinny slowly. She laughed softly as it lifted a wing and flapped it in her direction; still not moving from it's position.
"Can you help us? Is this Laharl's castle?"
"Aye, dood! This is his castle, dood!"
"Oh! You were right Kitty, this is it! Shall we go?"

Kitty stared at the prinny, watching for any signs of it faltering. It was a mighty suspicious prinny. Then again, she rarely trusted a prinny - or demon for that matter - as far as she could throw them.
Then again, she wasn't the right size to throw a prinny at the moment.
Kitty looked up with Jennifer with the most pitiful Kitty eyes she could muster. "Trap..? Careful..."

Jennifer looked at Kitty, her words of caution making her wary of her decision to converse with the prinny. She was all too trusting, and she had heard it many times; from Gordon. Over and over, Jennifer was berated by her comrades and her father of her fault in trusting people; and in this case other worldly creatures far too quickly.
"Oh! You might be right... I wonder how we can tell if he's trustworthy or not."
Jennifer whispered her concerns to Kitty, her eyes looking down at the feline and she stooped low to get close to Kittys face, her breath touching Kittys ear as she spoke again.
"But if we don't get his help, we might not be able to find Laharl for a long time.. What do you suggest?"
By that time, the prinny was rather bored, his peg legs clunking on the rock he stood upon as he waited for further question or instruction from the human.
"Are you a human, dood? You don't look like a demon, Master Etna is much scarier than you, dood."
He tapped a peg leg against the rock again before hopping down and wobbling towards the other two, his beady eyes wandering up and down Jennifer's body as he circled around her and Kitty; flapping his wings in confirmation.
"Yep, human dood. No horns. No tail. No wings. You have to be, dood. But what are you doing here?"
"Ah.. What? I.."
Jennifer, though impressed with the prinnys accurate guess, was still wary of him due to the reaction Kitty had previously shown to him. She once again looked for Kitty with caution, before making any drastic decisions.

He had picked up his pace to match the foots steps, keeping his head down to make sure that he didn’t lose the tracks, and surprisingly, the way his luck was going, he did not run into anything while doing so.
“Why would the help be running away from their work? I mean they must get paid well, and they are abusing the hotel manager’s trust, must be some pretty bad demon to do such a thing.”
Dood!
He heard a voice the he had heard a short while ago and ducked behind a tree. He figured that Angel had come back to finish the job on him since he could hear a Prinny talking, but then there was a voice he didn’t recognize. He poked his head out from tree slowly, keeping to the shadow of it and saw a Prinny alright, no angel though, just a girl with a cat talking to themselves.
He then looked down at the foot prints he had been following…it was that girl’s foot prints, but what was going on. She didn’t look like any demon he’d seen, he actually looked like…
“…A human? Impossible…”
He had whispered to himself as he thought back to his memory of his past, picturing the few humans he had met in his life time…the ones that he could remember at least.

Kitty's ears flickered. Had she heard someone else besides the annoying prinny? Well, no matter. Now that the prinny approached and investigated them, she saw nowhere to run. Best run with it.
"Laharl friend," she said to the prinny. "Take to castle...." Her feline ears roamed elsewhere, searching for the phantom noise she heard...
