Treia was hard at work training the new recruits. These dogs knew how to be speedy and she wanted to see how speedy they could get. Crossing her arms, she tapped her foot. The army for Zenon was growing in number, but not raw power. Treia sighed, looking around the cavern and sitting beside the Zombie King as she assessed the situation. "So what do you think? You're older than I am." "... You do well getting a lot... but they need training to face Overlord Zenon's powerful foes...""My thoughts exactly... how does he expect me to train all these creatures?""Very well, child... very well..."Treia stretched from her position and yawned. Avernum, the Hell Dragon trudged foward, the earth shaking with each step, his emerald eyes smoldering in the shadowy atmonsphere of the cavern. He only needed to take one step in order to turn his head towards Treia and almost block her path completely. He snorted once before his deep, rasping voice filled the cavern.
"Be warned, Beastmaster....Overlord Zenon may have overlooked your failure to slay the ninja of the Snow Clan, one of the greatest foes to our cause, but I shall not. Be warned...I would not want to fail at yet another task if I were you." the Hell Dragon growled, shifting out of her path.
"For if you fail again...I am not sure how helpful you would be to Overlord Zenon's cause...and I am very uncertain how long a useless servant survives...", he said, his tone sounding even more cold than usual.
And with that lovely condition set out for her current task, he watched her.

((Is this my Hell Dragon or another Hell Dragon come to check on her?))
Treia looked at the Hell Dragon a little confused. Her orders were, at the time, to build up Zenon's army. The kunoichi had slain four of her unit in less than a minute... wasn't the army more important?
"My direct orders were to raise an army for Overlord Zenon. I would have wasted a lot of precious time and resources to kill her... I knew I couldn't catch her if she decided to run, so I didn't display the power Overlord Zenon gave me. Not that close to a village. It's bad enough that people are speaking about overthrowing Overlord Zenon in the open."
She cracked her knuckles... the Zombie King remained silent, knowing that he was outranked with the old one nearby. The mystic beasts around paused their training and slowly inched away from the massive dragon.
"Isn't it more important to keep he and his plans secret? If she knew I would be raising an army for Overlord Zenon, she would have killed all the new recruits and I would have really failed then... particularly when I overheard about needing to start a search party. Now that I've seen what she's capable of, I know what kind of team to build in order to hunt the ninja down... and I have a spare search party. In the end, I think I did the smart thing. Was I wrong, venerable one?"
The Zombie King remained silent and waited for the old one to erupt. Apparently, Treia had not been around long enough to know who this Hell Dragon was to be talking so nonchalantly to him... but she was at least respectful to him. Perhaps he wouldn't kill her...

((I'm pretty sure it was the one Zenon sent along with ya. Sorry that I didn't explain that a bit more clearly. Xx; I asked Ryukazi a question, and when he gave me the answer to my question, he offered the position of two people close to Overlord Zenon, the Hell Dragon and the Zombie King. I picked the Hell Dragon. I apologize for any confusion.))
The Hell Dragon looked at the Beast Master and thoughtfully gazed upwards thoughtfully, then back at her.
"I apologize for not considering those options before I scolded you. Sometimes, my wish for the death of the enemies of the Overlord overrides my rationality. However, I assume you are ignorant to my position in Overlord Zenon's glorious kingdom. I am Avernum, one of his closest and most powerful vassals, and you will speak to me in a manner befitting of such. However, there were possible measures to destroying the girl and the village without obtaining suspicion...there are many wild demons running rampant these days...death and destruction are not uncommon amongst the people. Although I do share your infuriation for people openly speaking their defiance for Overlord Zenon, and I understand completely your actions, I will have to still acknowledge this. However...you do seem to have a great deal of potiential...now then...show me how well you can train these beasts." Avernum said in his deep, raspy voice, remaining behind Treia and observing her every action.

Treia was, indeed, new to the ranks of Overlord Zenon. She was a human who willingly gave her conscience in order to forget her life... and that's the only fact she knew about her past.
"Sorry, venerable one... I should have asked you name and the Zombie King's. You have been around a lot longer than I..."
"No skin off my nose, child... after all, I don't have one..."
Unloading her bow, she looked over to the Mystic Beasts and started stringing it.
"Alright, pups... you're going to be part of the search party, and I need your speed up. I also need to practice my bow. Since I've trained you enough to get your first attack, we're going to see you all use it both offensively and defensively."
She knew that she, herself, had to become stronger for Overlord Zenon. Walking into the middle of the pack, she harnessed her arrow and stepped up on her haunches.
"Pretend I'm the pitiful victim. If you run into the ninja girl, you will have your work cut out for you in dodging attacks as well as hitting them. You'll need to work together as well as hit and run... don't go easy on me... I won't on you."
The hounds looked at one another and started to circle and surround her... but they weren't moving. Treia quickly took out an arrnw, and the beasts around her started to finally move out of the way, but she changed the direction of her arm and shot behind her without looking that direction, nailing one of the hounds in the shoulder.
"I said MOVE you idiots!"
It was then they started running in a circle around her as she drew another arrow. The one with the arrow in his shoulder moved slower, but still moved around and changed directions to charge directly at her. She pulled an arrow to attack, but at the last second, the wounded one charged up his speed in a Wild Rush attack and raked her good across the back.
"You learned!" she said painfully.
And the rest followed suit, though she was ready for the next volley of attacked and side-stepped the next two, turning and hitting one in the butt with one of her arrows. It cried out and whined, but kept running.
"Bah... you're leaving a pattern now... I know what to expect!"
They kept going in the same circle, so she aimed and fired one at another fresh Beast, but he jumped and it sailed across the cavern into the wall.
"Good."
Leaping up, she dodged two of the Wild Rushes which were charging her, and they ended up knocking into one another.
"Dead meat!"
Both of them ended up with arrows in their shoulders, but they were at least smart enough to run away and back to stalking in the circle. The 'smart' one who was the first to get injured started circling in the other direction.
"Talk to each other! Don't let that happen again!"
She shot another arrow at one of them, not looking behind her, and he managed to dodge the arrow using the Wild Rush, but was off course by a few feet and missed Treia.
"That's what I-"
It was then the 'smart' one and one of the fresh ones coodinated their Wild Rushes and slammed themselves into Treia while the one missed and she ended up on the floor. The rest of them jumped her in unison as she grinned with an evil smirk. As the group pounced on her in unison, she unloaded a Poison Shot at point blank which shot several arrows into the Beasts and to the ceiling. They were in midair long enough for her to roll out of the way as the vine she was aiming for was falling.
A few of the group were fast enough to dodge out of the way, but it landed on a decent majority.
"Nice teamwork... lousy plan..." Treia replied, dusting her pants off. "Never assume that alone means helpless... even a Prinny can hit you with an area attack at point blank if they're strong enough... that's why gang-banging isn't always the brightest thing."
One the Beasts whimpered under the vine and slowly got up... one of the Poison Shot arrows went right through his muzzle and shut his jaw together. The way he was limping, he looked like he was poisoned.

As the Hell Dragon watched this lone Beast Master fight off the Mystic Beasts with a skill that betrayed her appearance. And she seemed to be quite aware of tactics, a talent that he rarely saw in the ranks of Beast Masters. He was quite impressed with the overall performance of the girl, and was sure that she would make a fine soldier in the Overlord's army. However, she had much to learn if she were to become a key part to the Overlord's plan. He looked at the injured ones and then back to the Beast Master.
"Well, young one...what do you plan to do with the injured ones? To heal their wounds...or end their lives?" Avernum inquired as he watched the poisoned beast limp pathetically from underneath the vine she had used to pin the beasts down.

"Even the weak can distract the enemy long enough to give the strong a chance to attack..." Treia replied.
Kneeling next to the poisoned one, she took the vines off of him and broke the tip of the arrow off his muzzle. Using her hand to clamp down his muzzle, she yanked the arrow out of his jaw, causing him to howl in pain.
"This hurts, doesn't it? Do you WANT to live?"
Just a few whimpers came from the Beast as he nodded quietly. Treia grabbed its head, she took a moment to suck the poison out of his muzzle and spit it out. It was painful to watch for a couple of the beasts, but it appeared that the worst was over.
"That wasn't fun was it?"
The beast whimpered and shook its head.
"Then get faster!"
Looking around at the others with arrows poking out of them she wrapped a bandage tight around the muzzle of the other one and looked at one with three arrows sticking out of him.
"Next!"
She proceeded to rip the arrows out of all of their bodies. It was a harsh lesson learned. There were only two or three who came out wound-free. She handed each of them a slab of meat for their good work. Treia knew mercy... but a hard mercy.
"Training is meant to prevent people from messing up. If they are stupid enough to botch up a real mission, then they get what they deserve. They are property of Overlord Zenon just as much as you or I are. To kill them now would be robbing him of his army... but if they die in order to make way for a successful attack, they serve a much better purpose."
She got raked really bad in the back as she took a hand to the wound and looked at her own blood. Nodding to herself, she was pleased with this bunch.

Avernum growled slightly in his throat, this was not a growl of anger or meant a growl of threat, but sort of noise made during contemplativeness. He looked at the Beast Master as she tended to her creatures. Although she seemed to be a bit rough with the creatures in treating their wounds, he could almost sense a sort of tenderness as well. He moved closer to her and lowered his massive head at her side and looked at her with one of his burning green eyes.
"You say that, but seem soft-hearted...however...I cannot deny your skill. What is your name, Beast Master? I would prefer to have something to address you by, seeing as how we might be working together for a long while...perhaps if you continue to show this kind of promise, I will see to it that Overlord Zenon finds out about your performance. However...I would prefer to see you show less mercy upon the creatures who failed to avoid damage. They will become less willing to perform to their greatest potential if they feel that they will be rewarded regardless of their performance..." Avernum advised in a serious tone.
He awaited for the Beast Master's next action, watching as the creatures thankfully and ravenously devoured the meat before them.

"You call this mercy?" she said, painfully yanking an arrow from one of the Beasts. "They'll learn next time. It's not like I gave them all meat. The ones who failed are stuck with rations."
Getting up from her lowered position, she smiled at the dragon. It was as if a little of her humanity returned when she talked about Zenon. As if she was genuinely happy.
"Overlord Zenon named me Treia. Glad to be working with someone so close to him. I feel so honored."

Avernum let the name sink deep into his mind, and it joined the thousands of other names he had learned throughout his immortal life. He gazed down upon Treia and nodded, letting out a proud grunt.
"Overlord Zenon named you well." he started, looking the girl over once again, "But what you are doing, I call mercy. Your words to them are cruel, but your actions are humane. However, your admirable goal to preserve every soldier in Overlord Zenon's army during training is a powerful improbability. Before I earned such esteemed status with the Overlord, many of my comrades died before we even reached the battlefield. But we fought with skill and fury that outmatched our opposition, despite their greater numbers." he said gruffly, his eyes glazing over slightly, as if he were reliving the moment.
He then shook his head and returned to speaking to Treia. "However, I am sure you will learn in time. Perhaps you will be the one general of the Overlord's army who shall produce a sizeable unit with a vast amount of skill without having to resort to the cruelty of a pure demon. Despite this, it is not uncommon for others to die in their training...the weak shall perish after all...You have a great amount of promise...nothing something I see in the altered human recruits, or even in the bestial recruits...you may very well not hang in the shackles of servitude to a vassal. But you must learn that sacrifices must be made for the greater benefit to the Overlord's glorious plans." he said, seeming a slightly close to becoming angered at the end of the sentence. Perhaps hinting at those who held back the Overlord due to attatchment to something other than the Overlord's will.
"You are injured, I assume you have some method of healing yourself so that you may train these beasts further?" Avernum inquired, tilting his massive head towards Treia, the anger in his voice vanished.
