I would warehouse units and get the xp bonus at the end of the levels that is how I unlocked all the classes

What I truly like in Makai Kingdom is the presence of those vehicles. Something that the other NIS games don't have. I have never gotten the Yosh-it-suna in MK though, because I haven't leveled up that much in that game. As for a Makai Kingdom 2, it needs more kickass vehicles that are waiting to get hooked up!

My only problem with MK and PB was that the free roam system made it impossible to use your stronger characters as blockers to protect your weaker allies. It was cool being able to pass along what were technically class skills over from one reincarnation to another, and opening up the other tiers wasn't as hard if I recall correctly. It still stunk that every new boss character that joined the party started at level one and you had to build them up. Maybe it was the more diminutive sprites, but it felt like the stages were too large and the throw system was a pain when you had to clear a part of the map that took 3-4 turns just to kill a handful of enemies.
I am a little curious about any plans for a La Pucelle 2. While it may have just been a joke like Asagi, they hinted at it when reading the description for Prier's special attack in Disgaea 2. It's food for thought.

Yea not having blockers is hard but the "uniqueness" of Makai versus all of nis is amazing. makai has way more classes, way more weopon types, and way more of a reason to reincarnate (with certain classes, ex corn, having passive boosts) and to top it off it even has a monty python and the holy grail refference

I sure would love a new La Pucelle... I thought it was a very fun game, far too often overlooked in light of the success of Disgaea. But digressing, I liked the free-roam system a lot, despite complaints of reviewers. There were definitely some problems that I noticed in Makai and Phantom Brave, too, but there was a lot that I think they really ought to consider putting back mainstream into their games, like the large weapon varieties.
I'm not really a completionist, so I didn't really unlock all of the units in Makai or anything. I'm a little limited when it comes to talking about post-game stuff. XD
