Question(s) about this time's RP...

Will there be RPs for the other games (Disgaea 2, Makai Kingdom), as well as regular Disgaea? Are our characters going to be universal, as per seeming lack of factions this time around?

It'd be nice to know what Ryu's planning around here in terms of that... ^^;

I was curious about that as well. It seems like original characters could probably fit either Disgaea canon or Disgaea 2 pretty easily, but the same doesn't go for the game's canon characters, who change significantly from one game to another.

Then again, RPing canon characters is always iffier than original ones, it seems.

in the past we have had to create new characters for each game (d1, d2, and makai) so I would imagine that would be the case again.

Universal wouldn't always work because the monsters in Makai Kingdom can use actual weapons were as the monsters in the Disgaeas can't

and I'm pissed that d3 cat sabers can't own like the ones in makai can

As I understand it, we're going to stick to the basics for a while. While the base buildups and we can carry some RPs for a while, we can look forward to expansions. The total extent I can't say, but I think we can look forward to a Disgaea 2 section in the future.

that is correct. I would like to build the community back up a little again before we move into future expansion. But you can expect Disgaea 2 and Makai Kingdom to be on the menu, as well as some other familiar titles for future expansion~

We had everything besides La Pucelle, Disgaea 3, and Soul Nomad, right? And Rhapsody, I suppose.

I could really get behind a La Pucelle RP. But I suppose the old ones should really come first. XD

If we are going to stick with the basics, then that means, we are still going to start with Disgaea 1? That's fine with me.

I'll be looking forward to Disgaea 2 or 3. I won't do much better in a La Pucelle, Rhapsody, or Soul Nomad RP. xD;;

Think of it this way, Ming. You can RP in the sections we have now to build up the Hel for your character to be made in the (possible) Makai section. If we never do get such a section (gasp. >>) then you'll have a large sum of hel to spend anyway.

I personally would like a Makai kingdom RP section, if only to be able to purchase a Yoshitsuna and pimp it out with painted flames/ spinners/ hydrolics/ highlights/ hola dancer girl headdash ordiment.

The only problem for a Rhapsody RP is figuring out the character types available to play. The majority of monsters are little more than wild animals. Then again, there are the puppets, but their is the problem of tiers. Now if there was an invasion by the Disgaea universe things might be more interesting

La Pucelle, it was a fun game, but adapting the mechanics might be a problem.

Disgaea 3 would be much easier to adapt, but learning what all the new skills do will be a pain (damn mana costs!).
