Yukichii didn't know how to respond to the girl, her questions posed a threat in his mind as it was the first time anyone had been able to muddle him with such a simple word. 'Why?' He didn't know why, he just knew that his instinct told him to protect this girl. She appeared so fragile, so alone, yet she wouldn't even tell him her name.
"Yukichii." He stated plainly, his eyes trained on the top of her head, which was buried against his chest as she sobbed, finally giving up her fight. "That's my name. You don't have to tell me yours right now." He rubbed her back softly, his heart rate slowing as he relaxed, just trying to comfort her now.
"Shhh, it's okay." He whispered, putting his face close to her ear, one hand raising to pet her hair gently. "Hm?" He tilted his head suddenly, hearing the voice of another calling out. "A...sshole?" He blinked as he looked around, spotting a younger male and he began to raise a hand in welcome of the newcomer, though he blinked again as the boy didn't seem to be so happy to see him.
"Hm?" The sound came again as he watched intently as the boy began to gain speed and leaped into the air. "Oi." He turned slightly to the left, pulling the girl with him as he twirled three times and stood still holding her, facing the boy. "Now what was that for?"

(I removed your post boogie because you went out of turn order... Feel free to repost after this one.)
Kalan was still sobbing as the man spoke to her, her eyes still closed tightly as she tried to understand where his kindness had come from. She still couldn't trust him, she couldn't believe him that he would be so polite to her when he had just met her without having an ulterior motive. His words still stung her, the words he had spoken about her doll being trash and she looked up; about to pull awake.
"Yukichii. That's my name. You don't have to tell me yours right now."
Had she heard him right? Had he told her his name, no; he mustn't. It was so informal to know his first name, she didn't want to have any ties to this man; but he had just sealed his own fate. Anyone who had ever gotten close to her had seen nothing but pain and suffering and even though she didn't trust him; she didn't want to bring him harm.
"My name..."
She stopped herself as she overheard a loud voice shouting, her eyes moving to the males face which was no longer even paying attention to her words. She turned her own eyes to the shouting boy, one who appeared a little older than herself, but not by much. Who was he? And what was he shouting for? It was all too soon when she caught on, her eyes widening as he raced towards them; his foot in the air heading straight for them.
"Eh..."
The sound was forced from her throat as she was unable to scream from the shock, her body being whisked to the side by the stranger who held her; her form pressed firmly against his as he spoke to the newcomer. She felt her face become heated and she lowered her eyes to avoid anyones notice of her embarrassment at being saved by the man who she only knew as "Yukichii".

(My bad, overly eager)
Boogie smacked himself as he saw the young girl flying along with the one he struck. Despite his best efforts, Boogie feared that underneath he was still just a dork. He peered between his fingers and muttered, "I guess it doesn't help when the rescue is just as dangerous as the threat."
He sneered at the boy, "I'm walkin' around, mindin' my own business, when I hear her screaming. I hustle over an see you got her tight, you do the math."

Yukichii didn't hear the words of the girl, but he was well aware of her presence, and he clutched her more tightly to his form. His grasp was protective and dominant, as if to say that she was his, and for the other not to interfere. He wanted to protect her, and he had no idea who this person was or what he wanted with them.
"She was alone and frightened, I startled her; that's all. Everything is fine now. You can be on your way." He snorted as he looked down at the girl, one hand raising to tentatively stroke her hair and he allowed his gaze to rise again to meet that of the other male. He spoke with force and a hint of anger as he kept his steely gaze steady. "You could have hurt her badly with that roughhousing you know. She's already had quite a trying day it appears..." His voice trailed off as he took the hand from her head and raised her chin to examine her face, making sure that she was unharmed.

Kalan stood in shock, her eyes still staring idly at the male who had kicked Yukichii. She felt herself being petted, her eyes moving again to look at the chest of the one who's hand was touching her; her embarrassment returning. She didn't even hear their words anymore, her heart pounding in her ears as she tried to evaluate the situation. Two men, fighting, over her?
"Mm?"
She was overusing the sound it seemed, but it was the only reaction she could think of at the time, with this man who was constantly touching her since their meeting. His touch was light and gentle, her head being turned from side to side as he checked for any injuries; her blush increasing as she stared up at him. She wanted to pull away, but she knew she wouldn't be able to break his hold, no matter how hard she tried; and at the same time she welcomed it. No one had ever cared about her well-being this much.

Boogie rested a hand on his hip in disdain of Yukichii's retort, "Given that you have been terrorizing this child for who knows how long, you'll forgive me if I have a hard time believing that any consent she gives isn't under duress."
Boogie studied the two more carefully, "Then again, you two seem to be of equal might. The girl just may be able to take you down had she the heart to fight."
He had given thought earlier to taking students, and both of them seemed to be novices. However, the boy seemed to Boogie more animal than demon, he had plenty of fight in him but may not take instruction well. The girl on the other hand, while timid, may be more receptive. Boogie recalled how bookish and reclusive he was when he was her age, strangers frightened him almost as much as he and the boy must scare the girl.
Boogie smirked as he bowed his head. Embarrassment over his past inadequecies kept him from facing the girl as he spoke, "Child, no one can fully conquer their destiny, but if one develops inner strength, they can at least have a say. To lean on others for protection is no safety, only in oneself can you trust implicitly. However, one needs a teacher when uninitiated in the ways of inner strength."

Yukichii had been looking down at the girl, watching her as she stared at him silently, her eyes full of surprise. He laughed to himself and let go of her chin after a close inspection and he patted her on top of the head as he decided she was unharmed. He turned his eyes back on the male who had been talking to them, one arm dropping to his side as the other held the girl tight against his side.
"She doesn't need a teacher, why don't you move along?" He clipped, his eyes narrowing as he eyed the male that was still intruding on their privacy. "I was just tending to her and she doesn't need any more help, it's fine. Just be on your way and leave us alone." His arm held her more firmly as he looked down the end of his nose at her, hoping for a positive reaction.

Kalan looked around silently as the two males spoke, her mind processing the words and she stopped idling; her eyes moving back and forth between then men. She tilted her head as the male in front of them spoke about her, talking about her direction; or lack thereof. She was shocked that he would make such a statement, but at the same time she didn't completely understand what he was saying. He wanted to teach her something? What?
She looked up as Yukichii responded, stating that she didn't need anyone to teach her anything. Who was he to say what she did and didn't need? Sure he had been kind to her thus far, but she could make her own decisions.
"Who are you?"
She looked back at boogie, her form shifting away from Yukichii as she stepped closer to the other male and she looked him over slowly. She took in his entire form, her eyes gliding over him and she walked around him in a slow circle; her arms at her sides the entire time.
"And what are you talking about. Teaching things?"

Boogie was pleased to see the young girl break away from the boy, it seemed that she did have a will of her own afterall. The young man seemed to be rather possessive of her, like a child with a doll shouting, "Mine!"
Boogie regained his confidence, and toyed with the amulet as he explained, "Let me give you a quick, fundamental lesson: All existence is composed of mana. It flows through us, it gathers within us, it binds us to all things. By commiting oneself to study, and practise, one can use mana to whatever desired ends. I have heard of ancient Overlords with mana that could create entire worlds. I have mastered this art, and as is the natural flow, a master should nurture this talent in others. To manipulate and control mana is an ancient art amongst the demon race, this art called magic."

Yukichii was a bit jilted as he felt the girl pull away, his pride hurt more than anything. He had tried to protect her from this weirdo spouting off about magic and teachings when he knew damned well he could teach her anything this other man could. He huffed in a breath and was about to object when he heard her speak a full sentence for the first time. His eyes were transfixed on her as she spoke, her lips parting beautifully and he couldn't stop staring.
"Yes, who are you?" Yukichii repeated her question, no longer interested in her words, his eyes narrowing as he stepped forward as well. He was furious that her attention had been drawn away from him and he was not going to let it go unknown. "You come here prattling on about assholes and magic and yet you won't even give us your name?"
He shook his head carelessly and grabbed the girls hand, tugging her backwards and glaring at the other male, the glint in his eye merciless and possessive. He caught her against his chest and held her there with his arms around her tightly, his lips parting to spit out his final words.
"I can teach her anything she needs to know, we don't need you! Just get lost already!"
